James Toney III

James got his start in pro-social marketing and campaign development in 2005 with Save Darfur Coalition in Washington, D.C.  There he played a critical role in the "Million Voices for Darfur" Campaign, helping acquire over 800,000 e-petitions and deliver over 70,000 people to a rally in the national mall.  This campaign eventually led to Congressional and White House action, with over $700 million dollars being allocated for humanitarian relief and a high level diplomacy envoy.  While finishing up his degrees in Political Science and Economics from Pepperdine University, James co-founded ACTVST, an organization that served as a fundraising and awareness engine for non-profits.  ACTVST help multiple cultural events that raised thousands for the development of wells in Tanzania.  After graduating in 2007, James worked as Creative Director and Campaign Manager for YouthNoise.com where he designed pro social campaigns for Virgin Mobile, Nike, Timberland, Hewlett Packard, and Good Magazine.

Tyler Simmons

Tyler has trotted the globe from Argentina to Mongolia, lived in Spain, Chile and has taught English to children in Laos. Tyler graduated from California Polytechnic State University where he earned a degree in Industrial Technology and a minor in Spanish. He started his professional career at Quiksilver Inc. where he launched the Quiksilver Women’s brand and successfully managed and developed product and merchandising strategies for 3 years, developing a comprehensive understanding of the product life cycle and its relation to the consumer. While at Quiksilver he also initiated various prosocial initiatives including the Quiksilver Women’s GIVE BACK Campaign that elevated the non-profit, EPIC, to support its on the ground water programs in Tanzania. He started SEW as a creative outlet to help others authentically tell THEIR stories. He believes it is a manifestation of the way life should be; a complete blend of work and play.

Ian Elliott

Constantly looking to travel, explore and discover. Ian will definitely take some time to sit on the park bench and observe all that is happening around him. Pursuing his passion for social products, he simultaneously worked for TOMS Shoes (when still at Blake’s apartment in Venice) to help TOMS in developing brand and marketing strategies on a national level. Upon graduating from LMU with a a degree in International Business and a degree Advertising, Ian has spend the past two and a half years working at Quiksilver while concurrently building the framework for SEWcreative. While at Quiksilver, he crossed from a Product Manager to the Manager of Global Marketing . Ian spent time in the European and Australian markets with Quiksilver gaining intimate understanding of what it takes to craft campaigns that are global in scale, but locally recognizable. Additionally, Ian has a comprehensive knowledge of the intricacies needed to bring multiple product categories to life and then to market.

Steven Ocheltree

A lover of pinto beans, grapefruit and vegetarian corn dogs, Steve graduated magna cum laude from California Polytechnic State University with a degree in business administration and a concentration in international law. Steve has worked with multiple international non-profit organizations such as Invisible Children, the Save Darfur Coalition and Lifewater International in the area of communication and development. From harvesting organic olives in southern Spain to living in a rural village in central Ghana, Steve yearns for adventure in the great outdoors; recently taking the form of cycling through the vast, diverse and inspiring landscapes of the Golden State. Steve joined the SEW team because of its unique alignment with his passions; the promotion of human welfare and the pursuit of better earthly stewardship. He firmly believes business should take place over a cup of Moroccan mint tea.
